Build a Trend Curve
Trends are not static. Tracking and analysis must be ongoing. Three elements are key to recognizing and analyzing trends.
- Valid trend indicators must be defined. At FoodWatch the indicators are consumer magazines and newspapers and restaurant menus.
- Specific information must be captured on a regular basis. At FoodWatch we capture data in food articles, recipes, restaurant characteristics and menu items.
- The information must be measurable over time.
By continuously analyzing information from our databases FoodWatch can identify trends as they emerge and track them as they either progress or falter in the marketplace.
